Founded in 1986, Samchun Industries Co., Ltd. is a technology-driven manufacturer specializing in precision engineering plastic injection molding. Headquartered in the Changwon National Industrial Complex, the company serves as a Tier-1 supplier to LG Electronics, delivering high-performance core sub-assemblies for washing machines, dishwashers, water purifiers and clothing care systems. Alongside continuous R&D through its in-house research institute, Samchun operates a dedicated Factory Automation (FA) team that develops and commercializes smart manufacturing solutions including automated warehouse systems, AI-based vision inspection software, FDC-based predictive maintenance systems, and robotic automation. Through the 2025 Large and Small Company Win-Win (AI Track) Smart Factory Program, Samchun is deploying LG Electronics' AI Agent (EXAONE) and Lite FDC solutions to automate the assembly and inspection line for two-stage drum dampers and to establish a predictive maintenance framework based on equipment anomaly data collection and analysis. The project targets higher hourly output, reduced in-process defect rates and lower manufacturing costs. Building on this experience, we present AI and automation solutions that small and medium manufacturers can practically adopt.
