Company Overview
KORAS ROBOTICS Co., Ltd. was founded in July 2022 based on over 20 years of robotics technologies developed at Korea University and successfully transferred to more than 20 companies across various industries. The company possesses comprehensive expertise spanning robot hardware (mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing), software (control, operation, and machine vision), and AI technologies (deep learning and reinforcement learning). Its business portfolio includes robotic tooling, robot solutions, and industrial automation.
In 2024, KORAS ROBOTICS was selected for open innovation programs supported by Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Company, where it successfully carried out proof-of-concept (PoC) projects. In 2025, the company was also selected for the LG Group Open Innovation Program. In November 2024, KORAS ROBOTICS secured an investment of KRW 3.5 billion (approximately USD 2.5 million) and currently employs 25 professionals.
Our core business areas are as follows.
1. Tooling Solutions
KORAS ROBOTICS provides an extensive portfolio of robotic tooling solutions centered around its internationally patented Motorized Automatic Tool Changer (MATC) and more than 15 compatible grippers, enabling robots to perform a wide range of industrial applications.
The product lineup includes high-performance grippers such as automatic finger-changing grippers, compliant grippers for handling deformable objects, high-payload grippers for heavy-duty applications, and grippers designed to tolerate gripping offsets. In addition, we rapidly develop custom grippers and application-specific tooling solutions tailored to customer requirements.
Our AI-powered tooling technology further enhances automation by recognizing target objects and automatically selecting both the optimal gripper and the appropriate grasping point. Our tooling solutions are currently supplied to leading manufacturers, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and LG Electronics.
2. Robot Solutions
KORAS ROBOTICS possesses comprehensive technologies required for developing collaborative robots, medical robots, and other advanced robotic systems, including robot hardware, software, and key robotic components.
Our product portfolio includes gravity compensation systems that increase the effective payload of robotic manipulators, robot controllers, joint torque sensors, and motor drivers.
Leveraging our experience in developing customized robot arms for more than 15 companies, we not only provide robot development services but also offer OEM manufacturing of robotic manipulators to meet customer requirements.
3. Automation Solutions
By integrating our expertise in hardware, software, and artificial intelligence, KORAS ROBOTICS develops customized industrial automation solutions optimized for customer applications.
To date, we have successfully delivered automation solutions across diverse industries, including 3D printing automation, robotic cooking automation, generative AI and voice-based task automation, automated coupler assembly for semiconductor manufacturing, and 3D bin-picking systems.
Building on technologies that have been validated in real industrial environments over the past two decades, KORAS ROBOTICS remains committed to delivering cutting-edge robotic technologies and innovative automation solutions that maximize customer value.
Exhibits / Products
This exhibit features a 6-axis collaborative robot with a 600 mm reach and a 3 kg payload capacity. The robot is operated using our in-house developed robot control software, which controls six joint modules to manipulate the position and orientation of the end effector. Each joint is driven by our proprietary KR-EMD motor driver, and the robot controller communicates with each KR-EMD via EtherCAT. The robot is equipped with our proprietary MATC (Motorized Automatic Tool Changer) at the end effector, demonstrating a variety of automatic tool-changing applications.
From left to right (front view of the robot), the end effectors are a Parallel Gripper, a Finger-Changeable 2-Finger Gripper, a Chuck Gripper, a 3-Finger Gripper, and a Vice Gripper.
The Parallel Gripper maintains parallel finger movement throughout the gripping process, providing consistent gripping force. It is well suited for precision part handling and repetitive automation tasks.
The Finger-Changeable 2-Finger Gripper can automatically switch to the appropriate finger during operation, enabling a single gripper to handle objects with various shapes.
The Chuck Gripper uses three synchronized fingers to securely grasp cylindrical objects. During gripping, the workpiece is automatically centered, providing high positioning accuracy.
The 3-Finger Gripper firmly grips tools using three fingers and provides adaptive gripping capability for handling objects of various shapes.
The Vice Gripper uses two specially designed fingers to firmly secure tools. It is particularly effective for handling objects that are difficult to grip, such as kitchen utensils, and maintains a consistent tool center point even when slight positioning errors occur.
